The Invitation

What unfolds within the living mystery of Grace?

Once we have learned to stand in our own sovereignty, we are called to explore how that freedom moves in relationship — with one another, with nature, and through our unique contributions in this life. Here, the field of community becomes the ground where Grace takes form.

Grace is a mystery known across cultures: a quality of divine mercy, of elegance, kindness, and forgiveness. Through Grace, we soften into truth, releasing what confines us, opening to the depth of our own experience. It moves with our sincere practice — never apart from effort, yet always beyond control.

Through ritual, sacrament, and discovery, participants enter into deep connection together — cultivating a community of Grace where healing, clarity, and renewal arise as one movement of the heart.

A new and original exploration threads through the work: Integrity in the context of Grace — a dedicated inquiry into what it means to live and lead from wholeness, and how Grace transforms our relationship with accountability, truth, and one another.

The Work at the Heart of Grace

Grace is not a feeling. It is a capacity.

We understand grace as the capacity to remain resourceful — effective, clear, and generative — when reality departs from the plan. It is a measure of where a person’s ground is located, and whether that ground holds when the map no longer matches the territory. Our work is to move that ground.

01

Grace as a resource

In difficulty, we reach for composure — steadying ourselves, working the problem, holding the course. It serves us, until the pressure is genuine.

02

Grace as ground

Our sufficiency is no longer contingent on the plan succeeding. We can release what isn’t working without it threatening who we are.

03

Grace as a clearing

Disruption becomes a source of insight rather than a threat. What breaks the plan becomes the opening for what’s next. Nothing is wasted.

To open a world of grace is to help a person move from ground that depends on the plan to ground that holds when everything changes.

The Program in Time

The journey, from first call to completion

The on-site immersion is the heart of the experience — but the container opens before you arrive and closes long after you leave. This is the full twelve-week arc.

Weeks 1–4 · Preparation

1:1 Pre-Program Orientation

Each participant meets individually with a Shepherd U guide. This conversation establishes a personal foundation — surfacing what each person is carrying, what they are hoping for, and how to prepare for the week ahead.

Weeks 1–4 · Preparation

2-Call Group Preparation Series

Two group calls bring participants into relationship with one another before the immersion begins — building the field of safety and intention that allows the deeper work to move quickly once on-site.

Optional remote practices — gentle yoga, breathwork, and meditation — support each participant’s deepening between calls.

The Heart · On-Site

The Immersion Week

Six days of sacred ceremony, somatic work, medicine, and community. The threshold crossing — the full arc from descent to integration, held within a container of Grace.

Weeks 5–11 · Integration

4-Call Group Integration Series

Four group calls over the weeks following the immersion. Integration asks the most of us — particularly in discipline. These calls ensure that what opened on-site does not close in the press of ordinary life; the group holds one another accountable to the new. Each participant also receives a 1:1 3-Session Parts Work Series — individual depth work that meets each person where they are.

Optional remote practices — weekly gentle yoga, yoga nidra, breathwork, and meditation through the Shepherd U Connect membership — support continued integration.

Week 12 · Completion

1:1 Future of Grace Call

Each participant closes the container in a final individual call — a conversation about what was found, what was left behind, and what is now possible. The program completes, and life, renewed, continues.

The practices we bring to every program

Around the ceremonial heart of each immersion, we weave hands-on healing practices — so the body, mind, and spirit are cared for at every stage of the journey.

Therapeutic Massage
One-on-one healing bodywork that releases what the body has held — restoring ease, circulation, and a felt sense of safety.
Breathwork
Guided somatic breath journeys that move stuck energy, deepen presence, and open the door to profound emotional release.
Yoga & Yoga Nidra
Gentle movement and yogic sleep woven with therapeutic sound — an invitation into deep restoration.
Reiki
Intimate 1:1 energy work that soothes the nervous system and helps the body find its own way back to balance.

Those Who Hold the Space

Guided by facilitators of rare devotion

Every immersion is led by trained Shepherd U facilitators and trusted partners whose lifework is the careful, reverent holding of transformation. Robyn Birdsong and Brad & Sarah are among the guides who lead these journeys — each bringing a distinct lineage, presence, and mastery to the people we serve.

Ater Tumti

Set in the dry tropical forest of the Guanacaste Peninsula, Ater Tumti is a place of warmth and wide horizons. An international threshold-crossing where the landscape itself carries a sacred character.

  • Infinity pool overlooking the forested hills
  • Warm, open-air architecture and natural textures
  • A distinct landscape of its own quiet power
  • A true sense of departure and arrival

Each immersion is hosted at a single private venue, chosen with the group in mind so the entire community can gather as one.

The Threshold

A world of Grace is beginning to open.

In times as tumultuous as these, something quiet is also happening. In communities everywhere, a gentle cracking open has begun — people slowing down, turning toward one another, and taking responsibility for their own healing. These openings are small. They are also real.

We exist to empower and enable them. Opening a World of Grace is offered to private cohorts and organizations ready to move through this journey together — and to widen those openings into something lasting. If it calls to you, we would be honored to begin.
